Lemon Poppyseed Pound Cake.

I made this Lemon Poppyseed Pound Cake for my (soon to be...) parents in-laws. The meal started with fresh foccacia, spaghetti, and ended with this cake.

I was going to post the recipe (adapted from Anna Olsons new baking book) but the cake is not worth repeating. The flavour was great, but it was SO dry. Everyone was very polite and choked it down. My mum suggested I write to ms.olson and let her know that baking this cake for over an hour in a loaf pan seems a little excessive. I was always told to follw baking recipes exactly.....guess not.

We made french toast with the left overs the next morning. I should have documented that breakfast instead. delish!! Coated in egg and swimming in maple syrup. yum.
